Random Thoughts

1) According to the "enlightened" among us..(Liberals), we cannot offer an opposing opinion towards drug addicts, women who want abortions, people of different races, immigrants, homeless people, criminals and crazy people because we haven't "walked a mile in their shoes". According to THEM, we shouldn't even venture an opinion unless we have "shared" their experiences.

Why the hell can't the Liberals and the "old guard media" accept the testimony and pro Iraq war opinions of the soldiers who are actually serving over there?

2) Ok.....stick with me here.

"Common" concensus states that girls mature much earlier than boys. Right? We've all been told that. It's what WE as a society have been told forever.

IF this is the case then answer me this...

Why is it that a female teacher of say....twenty eight years old can have sex with a fourteen year old boy and get a suspended sentence or house arrest while a twenty eight year old man gets sentenced to prison for twenty years for having sex with a fourteen year old girl?

Isn't the BOY more immature than the supposedly more advanced GIRL?

In both cases, the kids aren't complaining...they, in almost every case I've read about, consented to the sexual advances of their teachers.

I'm not condoning either of them but damn it, the punishment should be equal.

Don't get me wrong, I would have LOVED to have been "raped" by Mrs. Ba***le back in the ninth grade but had she done so...her gorgeous, well shaped ass should have been sent to freakin' prison just as fast as some balding, "couldn't get laid in a whore house", perverted Social Studies teacher wierdo!!!

3) Liberals love to claim a "Woman's Right To Choose". O.K....let's grant that. A woman can decide whether or not to carry a child to birth without any input from the father of the.....nonviable tissue mass. They claim, and the courts have reinforced that a man should have absolutely NO "choice" in the matter. Right?

Then why in the hell should a guy who DOES NOT WANT TO BE A FATHER have to pay child support when "I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR" decides to give birth to the nonviable tissue mass?

I've heard the feminist's state: "Well, he's paying the price for having sex."

Are they saying that women are too ignorant to realize that sex can and often DOES lead to pregnancy but men are smarter so they should be punished for taking advantage of stupid women?

Is it fair to have it both ways?

Just Asking.

4) Why the hell does ANYONE listen to a freakin' thing that Al Gore has to say? The man is a blithering idiot in the classic sense of the word.

It took me an hour to convince a new employee (a recent college graduate) that Al Gore didn't REALLY invent the freakin' Internet!! I swear by all that I hold dear that I'm NOT making this up! The dumb little bastard argued with me for an hour till I and a half dozen other folks finally convinced him.

College professors have taken their misinformation duties quite seriously. It's up to us to "re-indoctrinate" these young morons.

More to follow.

Gore and the internet, what a classic. I wonder if anyone ever told him the internet was developed in the seventies as a way for the Defense Department to communicate... not as a means to buy crap off ebay or get lesbian porn.
Is it fair to have it both ways...duh, has it ever been fair??? I'm gonna have to call you on this one Ron. So what if women are given a break in a couple of instances? Do you think that makes up for decades of repression??? The 19th ammendment allowed women to finally vote in 1920 after decades of protesting and civil disobedience. It makes me mad that we even have to have a 19th ammendment! And it wasn't till early 1900's that women could even own property. Before that time men OWNED their wives, their wive's property, and their children. Women couldn't execute wills, get credit, hold certain jobs, get higher education, etc. I'm sure you've heard it all before. So, I don't believe men have a right to whine about anything...but then women do have a higher tolerance for pain. I think God did that because we have to put up with you men. So when you ask, "Is it fair to have it both ways?" I gotta reply "Man up." (I learned that phrase from my 19 year old son. He's a whiner too.)

"So what if women are given a break in a couple of instances?"

In the immortal words of John McEnroe...."You CANNOT be serious!" Where is the logic in that? Is this some sort of female version of reparations such as some idiotic Black activists are calling for? As everyone's Mom always says, "two wrongs don't make a right". Pehaps such illogical thinking as what you wrote is the very reason that women were denied the vote for so long. Hmmm, time to repeal the 19th? LOL
More on this subject on my blog if you are interested in REALLY getting pissed off at me.

Hey Ron, I'm not interested in getting really pissed off at anyone, not really. BUT if you want people to read your blog...and from what I saw posted on Gut Rumbles yesterday (a pathetic attempt to get people to come over and read your blog), you do...then I wouldn't go around saying that one your only readers is illogical and a case for repealing the 19th ammendment. I think you missed my point entirely. Your comparison to blacks is full of holes. Blacks took blacks as slaves way before whites did and slavery is still going on among the blacks. My comments were merely to show that there have always been inequalities among the sexes and I suspect there always will. It was not intended to mean that men OWE women something for the years of injustices suffered. ( As opposed to blacks constantly demanding some sort of retribution for years of injustices) I merely wanted to point out that there are unfairnesses on both sides and everyone should get over it. (Thus, the "man up" comment) You want to know why I would never do a blog. Because the thing that made Rob Smith's blog so dang interesting was not his ranting about all the political injustices or the stupidity of the liberals. That's all been done to death. Just do a search on any of those topics and you'll get sites for blog after blog. His blog was interesting because his life was interesting. He wrote about his thoughts and opinions, but he also showed us his perception (yes, reality is only perception) of his life. He showed us what he felt - angst, pain, depression, love, anger....In the middle of all that he told us about the little everyday things (growing tomatoes, boiling peanuts...) that make up a person's life. Sure he told us what he thought about the government and the idiot politicians, but thats not what held his readers. It was his life. It was the way he told it, his unique slant on things. My life would never hold anyone's interest, neither would my opinions. It's all been done to death. I can't write but I know good writing - And trying to be edgy or clever only works when you got something interesting and new to say (and IF you're GOOD at being clever) Not that you aren't, but if you want to be found interesting I would quote someone other than John McEnroe and I wouldn't insinuate that my readers were morons...after all, what does that say about your writing (that only morons would want to read you??)?? Now that's faulty reasoning! Adios

Damn girl...lighten up! I was yanking your chain. You really SHOULD do a blog!
Trust me, I don't think my life OR opinions are all that unique but I DO want people to come to my blog. I simply like the idea of talking to different people and getting different takes on things that I'm interested in. As for a "pathetic" attempt....How the hell do you get other people to visit your blog if you don't leave your address on other blogs? I'm new to this...enlighten me.
Last but not least, while I do appreciate your opinions and your past comments, if you are so thin skinned that you're gonna get your feelings hurt, you perhaps need to "Man Up" a bit.

I didn't say I wasn't gonna read or respond. And my "pathetic" comment was in reference to the fact that you actually said something along the lines of...Rob is dead but if you still want to read someone who tells it like it is, come on over to my site. I think it's the norm to just comment in a seemingly interesting way, leave a link, and then folks say - Hey, this guy is interesting, I think I'll go see what else he has to say. I think there are 2 kinds of blogs, the ones that are written to attract attention (thus the annoying attempts to be really "clever") and the ones that Keeper mentioned - the ones where you write for yourself, to reflect and sort. I read a mere handful of blogs and a ton of news daily because I spend so much time on the computer watching those streaming stock quotes. (My love-hate relationship with the stock market is something I really gotta get under control.) Keep writing and if you run out of things to write about, I got a list. My latest interest is what's about to happen in Europe while the world focuses on the Middle East.
Our military is sending an increasing number of men and women to Europe to "prepare for when the s___ hits the fan in Europe." (quote from my neighbor who is stationed in Germany.) sigh...who knows?

I'm glad you are still visiting the blog. I am a jerk sometimes but I really do enjoy conversing with you and Keeper. Kind of strange ain't it. Total strangers exchanging thoughts but I like it.
By all means, suggest some subjects any time but I have a feeling that you are much better informed on indepth geo-political topic than I.
Actually, I intend to follow your advice and write about my life more and hopefully, rant a bit less about things over which I have absolutely NO control but fear not, I'm too much of a opinionated jerk to not "go off" occasionally.
If you are referring to the Russian/Putin situation and the former Soviet breakaway states..Hell yes, I'm very concerned.
All the unaccounted for weaponry and munitions is absolutely frightening.

Good, I look forward to hearing more about your life in those beautiful North Carolina Mountians.
I was born in N.C. and I plan to move back someday, God willing.
I'm very opinionated also, so we'll probably butt heads again, but thats ok with me.
